INDONESIA: Newspaper men take to the streets
Newspaper delieverymen will take part in four-kilometer run in event organized by the Indonesia Newspaper Deliverymen Foundation

Jakarta --- Some 10,000 newspaper deliverymen are expected to take part in a four-kilometer fun run next Monday.
The fun run is part of events commemorating the city's Loper Day -- Loper is local Jakarta slang for newspaper boys.
Information and Communications Minister Sofyan Djalil, Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso, National Sports Council (KONI) Chairman Agum Gumelar, along with ambassadors and celebrities, will attend the event organized by the Indonesia Newspaper Deliverymen Foundation (YLI).
"This is aimed at letting the hardworking deliverymen enjoy some fun and to create togetherness between them," YLI head Laris Naibaho said Tuesday.
Event organizer Dedik Supardiono said that each deliverymen would receive Rp 20,000 in transport money, a T-shirt, a cap and lunch.
He said that the event was a tribute to the deliverymen, who play an important role in the newspaper industry.
The run will start from the West Plaza of Senayan Stadium, through the slow lane of Jl. Jenderal Sudirman to Jl. Pemuda and back to Senayan.
"There will be door prizes, such as motorcycles, televisions, bicycles and others for participants," he said.
