Ini bermula dari tidak hadirnya The Jakarta Post ditangan agen, pada hari Rabu, 30 Januari 2008, karena kerusakan mesin cetak, yang ujung-ujungnya para pelanggan The Jakarta Post di keagenan Friendship Services tidak menerima harian tersebut, sang manager ini memutuskan untuk mengirim surat kepada seluruh langganan sekedar meminta maaf, dan tentu saja hal tersebut merupakan cara jitu untuk melindungan agen-loper dari cercaan para langganan.

Due to a major technical breakdown at our printing house in Jakarta, there was a massive delay in the delivery of The Jakarta Post to our subscribers in Jakarta and surrounding areas on Wednesday morning.
